Hi there! Mrs. Starbuck and I were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at some of the boats competing in the 2023 Ocean Globe Race.

The Ocean Globe Race is a yacht race that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the original Whitbread Round the World Race. It is a challenging race that will see 15 crews race around the world in classic yachts from the 1970s and 1980s.

We went down to Ocean Village Marina in Southampton, England, where the boats are currently being prepared for the race. We got up close and personal with some of the legends of the sport, including Maiden, the yacht that Tracy Edwards skippered to victory in the 1989-90 Whitbread Race. We also met the founder of the Ocean Globe Race, Don McIntyre.

It was an amazing experience to see these incredible yachts up close and to meet the crews who are about to embark on this epic adventure. We can't wait to follow the race and see how they fare.
